The Panzerkampfwagen III (Panzer III) was a German medium tank used extensively during the early years of World War II. Initially armed with a 37mm gun, later versions were upgraded to a 50mm KwK 38 or 39. It featured a three-man turret crew, enhancing battlefield communication. Designed for tank-versus-tank combat, it played a key role in campaigns across Poland, France, and the Soviet Union, before being replaced by heavier models.
