
The 長崎原爆資料館 (Nagasaki Atomic Bomb Museum) is located near the Nagasaki Peace Park and documents the tragic events of August 9, 1945, when the atomic bomb “Fat Man” was dropped on the city. Opened in 1996, the museum presents a powerful, educational experience through photographs, artifacts, survivor testimonies, and multimedia displays that show the devastation caused by the explosion and its aftermath.





Exhibits include melted everyday objects, ruined buildings, and personal belongings of victims, illustrating the immense human suffering and destruction. The museum also explains the historical background leading to the bombing and the global impact of nuclear weapons.
Its mission is to promote peace, understanding, and the abolition of nuclear arms, reminding visitors of the importance of compassion and global cooperation.
