The 6th SS Gebirgsjäger Division Nord was a German mountain infantry division in World War II, formed in 1941 from the SS Gebirgsjäger Regiment. Part of the Waffen-SS, it was primarily tasked with operations in rugged, mountainous terrain, utilizing specialized training and equipment for such environments. The division fought on the Eastern Front, participating in campaigns such as the Siege of Leningrad and operations in Finland and the Arctic. It was involved in brutal anti-partisan actions and war crimes.
