The Bridge at Remagen was a strategic crossing over the Rhine River in Germany, captured by U.S. forces during World War II in March 1945. Known as the Ludendorff Bridge, its capture allowed the Allies to establish a foothold in Germany, accelerating the collapse of Nazi defenses. Despite German attempts to destroy it, the bridge remained intact for several days, providing a vital supply route for advancing Allied troops.
