Heinz Guderian was a German general and leading proponent of armored warfare during World War II. He played a central role in developing the blitzkrieg strategy, which emphasized rapid, coordinated attacks using tanks, motorized infantry, and air support. Guderian commanded panzer units in the invasions of Poland, France, and the Soviet Union, demonstrating the effectiveness of mechanized warfare. In 1944, he was appointed Chief of the General Staff, where he attempted to influence German strategy but frequently clashed with Hitler. After the war, he was detained but not prosecuted at the Nuremberg Trials.
