Avro was a prominent British aircraft manufacturer, especially during World War II, known for designing and producing some of the most effective military aircraft of the era. Its most famous model, the Avro Lancaster, was a four-engine heavy bomber central to RAF Bomber Command’s strategic night bombing campaigns over Nazi-occupied Europe. Avro also produced other aircraft, such as the Avro Anson, Avro Lincoln and Avro Manchester, supporting reconnaissance, training, and transport roles.
