The Battle of Gdynia in September 1939 was part of Germany’s invasion of Poland. German forces besieged the strategic Baltic port city, defended by Polish troops and coastal artillery. After intense fighting and heavy bombardment, Polish forces withdrew to Kępa Oksywska, and Gdynia fell to the Wehrmacht on September 14.
