Operation Dynamo, conducted from May 26 to June 4, 1940, was the Allied evacuation of British and French troops from Dunkirk, France, after being encircled by German forces. Utilizing naval vessels and hundreds of civilian boats, over 330,000 soldiers were rescued across the English Channel. Despite enemy air attacks and logistical challenges, the operation preserved a significant portion of the Allied forces, allowing Britain to continue resisting Nazi Germany.
