Operation Infatuate was a British-led assault on the island of Walcheren in the Netherlands, launched in November 1944. Its goal was to capture the island and secure access to Antwerp’s port. The operation faced fierce German resistance but succeeded, allowing Allied forces to clear vital shipping routes for logistical support.
