This memorial is dedicated to General Stanisław Wladysław Maczek and the 1st Polish Armored Division. It was officially opened in October 2020 and expresses the gratitude of the inhabitants of Breda and the Netherlands for the efforts and the sacrifices of the Polish troops in liberating large parts of the country during World War Two. Inside the memorial is a permanent exhibition to commemorate General Maczek and the 1st Polish Armored Division and tells the stories of some of the events that took place during the liberation of Breda through an interesting collection of items and pictures.

In front of the memorial is the Polish War Cemetery and Military Honorary Field, where General Maczek and 160 Polish soldiers have their final resting place.

Visit

You can visit the Maczek Memorial Breda on the Ettensebaan 17A in Breda, The Netherlands. The memorial is not opened daily, so please check their website for opening hours ahead of your visit.
