The Battle of Bastogne was a key engagement during the Battle of the Bulge, fought from December 20 to 27, 1944. Surrounded by German forces, the U.S. 101st Airborne Division and other units held the Belgian town of Bastogne, a strategic crossroads. Despite harsh winter conditions and limited supplies, they resisted repeated assaults. Relief arrived with General Patton’s Third Army.
