During World War II, Poland was heavily fortified with bunkers, particularly along the Polish-German border. Notable structures included those at the Westerplatte and German Headquarters – Wolf’s lair or Wolfsschanze. These bunkers housed troops and artillery, with some sites becoming major points of resistance. Many bunkers remain as war memorials and tourist attractions.
