Pointe du Hoc is a prominent cliff located between Utah Beach and Omaha Beach in Normandy, France, known for its strategic importance during the D-Day landings of World War II. On June 6, 1944, U.S. Army Rangers were tasked with scaling the cliffs to neutralize German artillery positioned there, which threatened the landing forces. Despite difficult conditions, the Rangers successfully captured the position, although they faced heavy casualties. The site remains a significant historical landmark, with preserved craters and memorials honoring the bravery of the soldiers who fought there.
