Stanisław Sosabowski was a Polish general during World War II, best known for commanding the Polish 1st Independent Parachute Brigade in the Battle of Arnhem (1944) as part of Operation Market Garden. His forces, although heavily involved, faced difficulties and were unable to secure the bridge. After the operation, Sosabowski was criticized by the British but later recognized for his leadership and bravery in challenging circumstances.
