Savoia-Marchetti was an Italian aircraft manufacturer active during World War II. It produced bombers and transport planes, including the SM.79 Sparviero (Eng. Sparrowhawk), a successful torpedo bomber. Used by the Regia Aeronautica, Savoia-Marchetti aircraft operated in North Africa, the Mediterranean, and the Eastern Front, contributing to Italy’s air warfare capabilities.
