Festung IJmuiden was a heavily fortified German coastal defense stronghold in the Netherlands during World War II, forming part of the Atlantic Wall. Centered around the port city of IJmuiden, it protected vital naval and industrial infrastructure. The complex included bunkers, flak towers, artillery batteries, and submarine pens. Designed to resist amphibious assaults, Festung IJmuiden remained under German control until the surrender in May 1945, never directly assaulted by Allied forces.
