Rudolf Hess was a prominent Nazi official and close associate of Adolf Hitler during World War II. He served as Hitler’s Deputy Führer and was a key figure in the early years of the Nazi regime. In 1941, during the war, Hess made a dramatic and controversial solo flight to Scotland, aiming to negotiate peace with the United Kingdom. His mission was a failure, and he was imprisoned by British authorities. After the war, Hess was tried at the Nuremberg Trials for crimes against peace and sentenced to life in prison, where he died in 1987 under suspicious circumstances.
