Very well situated between Pointe du Riden and Cran aux Oeufs, this position guarded the beach of Gris Nez running to the Southwest in the direction of Batterie Todt.
Regelbau 612 Schartenstand
Widerstandsnest 165b Blücher has a Regelbau 612 (Schartenstand für Lande- und Sturmgeschütz) bunker to house an assault gun, which could fire at targets landing on the beach.
The inside of the bunker has been destroyed and filled with rubble.
FA HWB Shelter and Ammunition Storage
Wn. 165b Blücher has two FA (Feldmäßiger Ausbau) HWB (Heinrich-Wellblechen) constructions, which means these are improvised structures in the field using round corrugated iron ( Wellblech ) elements. The “Heinrich” designation indicates the iron structure has a round shape (a “Siegfried” designation indicated a Gothic shape).
You can visit this location following the coastal path from Cran aux Oeufs to Pointe du Riden towards Widerstandsnest 165 Frundsberg.
