The FlaKscheinwerfer 34, or SW 34, is a German World War Two searchlight with an 150 centimeter wide parabolic glass reflector. It could be traversed 360 degrees and elevated from minus 12 to 192 degrees. It had a detecting range of 8 kilometers for aircraft at an height of 4 to 5 kilometers. It was developed in 1934 and was transported on a special trailer.
Originally it was transported on the Sd. Ah. 102 carriage but over time this version was replaced by the Sd. Ah. 104 trailer. The 150 cm FlaKscheinwerfer 34 was powered by a 24 KW Generator.
The entire setup with the 150 cm Flakscheinwerfer Sw 34 and the 24 KW generator took 7 crewmembers to operate. The setup on the photo combines the 12 ton German Halftrack Sd. Kfz. 8, with enough seats for the crew (2 halftrack +11 crew for the searchlight and generator), pulling a 150 cm searchlight and a 24 KW Generator. Both the FlaKscheinwerfer 34 and the 24 KW Generator are carried by two Specialized trailer sets, the Sd. An. 104 (Sonderanhänger 104).
