Adolf Hitler was the leader of the National Socialist German Workers’ Party (Nazi Party) and dictator of Nazi Germany from 1934 to 1945. He initiated World War II with the invasion of Poland in 1939. His leadership was marked by aggressive territorial expansion, militarization, and the implementation of policies resulting in the Holocaust, which caused the deaths of millions. Hitler maintained totalitarian control through propaganda, suppression of opposition, and a centralized government. Facing defeat, he died by suicide on April 30, 1945.
