The Dutch army developed a hoist, a crane, to be able to perform repair work on the vehicles. This hoist was developed by the Dutch army itself and placed on the chassis with an adapted control cabin on the M38 armored vehicle, developing a recovery vehicle.
Unfortunately, the recovery vehicle was lost in the war. One hoist, a photo and the original design drawing (in the possession of the Dutch Army Museum NMM) survived the war.
