The 15 cm Wgr. 41, or 15 cm Wurfgranate 41,  came in different variants, uses and payloads. The rocket itself was 93 cm long and reached a top speed of 342 meters per second (1,231 kilometers per hour). The main use was with the 15 cm Nebelwerfer 41, a six barreled German Rocket launch system for smoke screens and artillery.

– The 15 cm Wurfgranate 41 Gelbring – Yellow band – Mustard gas
– The 15 cm Wurfgranate 41 Grünring – Green band – Phosgene gas

The structure of the rocket was different then you would expect from a standard rocket. The fuel, seven sticks of solid fuel, was located at the top of the rocket and the payload at the bottom. The rocket weighed 32,4 kilograms and had 6,5 kilograms of propellant and was spin-stabilized. This was done by the 26 nozzles at an angle of 14 degrees on two thirds of the rocket. There was a 2,4 kilogram warhead on the Spreng type and most of the weight was the metal casing which made the shell on impact. The smoke rocket had a mass of 35 kg and a payload of 3.85 kg of smoke.
Special ammunition trailers like the Sd. Ah. 7 were made for the 15 cm Wurfgranate, the same principle can be seen with the Sd. Ah. 33 specialized trailer for the 10 cm Wurfgranate used in the Nebelwerfer 35 and Nebelwerfer 41 and the German halftrack version Sd.Kfz. 11/1 was converted into a ammunition vehicle for the 10 cm Nebelwerfer.

The 15 cm Wurfgranate launched from the 15 cm Nebelwerfer 41 had a range of approximately 6.9 kilometers. Special ammunition trailers like the Sd. Ah. 7 were made for the 15 cm Wurfgranate, the same principle can be seen with the Sd. Ah. 33 specialized trailer for the 10 cm Wurfgranate used in the Nebelwerfer 35 and Nebelwerfer 41.
