A small monument commemorates the battle for the Ranville bridge—known as the Horsa Bridge—which took place on the night of June 5–6, 1944. During this engagement, a specially trained British unit captured the bridge, thereby preventing German reinforcements from reaching the landing beaches.
This monument is dedicated to the pilots and commanders of the units that fought here.

Visit
The monument is positioned at the foot of the bridge, on the western side, between the Hors and Pegasus bridges.
