Sherman M4A1 Medium Tank – Micheal – The oldest surviving Sherman Tank


Sherman M4A1 Micheal – The oldest surviving Sherman Tank. Named after Micheal Dewar who went to America during “The Tank Project”. The Brits needed more Armor during the war. This Sherman was the first to arrive in England in 1942. The M4A1 has a cast Hull instead of welded, this version has two hull machine guns. These two machine guns are only placed in early Sherman M4A1 Medium Tanks used by the British. Photographed at The Tank Museum in Bovington, England 2017.
