The NSDAP (Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei), or National Socialist German Workers’ Party, was the political party led by Adolf Hitler that ruled Germany from 1933 to 1945. It promoted fascist, nationalist, and anti-Semitic ideologies, aiming to establish a totalitarian state. Under NSDAP control, Germany pursued aggressive expansion, instigated World War II, and orchestrated the Holocaust. The party was banned following Germany’s defeat and its leaders prosecuted at the Nuremberg Trials.
