A Mausoleum of Cesare Battisti is erected in the park near Piazza Giuseppe Perrucchetti memorial and the Historical Museum of the Alpine Regiment. Cesare Battisti was a politician who was born in Trento which was an Austrian city in 1875. During the First World War Cesare Battisti urged Italy join the Triple Entente forces against Austria. With Italy’s entry into World War One Cesare Battisti fought against the Austro-Hungarian Army in the Alpini Corps at the Italian Front. After the was Battisti was hanged for his actions by the Austrians. Battisti became a hero for the Italians.
After entering the memorial you’ll read the text, “Agli Alpini D’Italia” with means “For the Alpine troops”.
A shrine in the honor of Cesare Battisti is the next object in the room beside a memorial stone with text, there is a sculpture of him as well.
Unfortunately the stairs to the top of the memorial were closed, but it would have been a good view of the surrounding out there.
We took some more pictures of the memorial and the guns and left for the museum.
