At resistance nest Lewis Tower is a little museum on the defensive position at St Ouens Bay. At the site are two WakoFest Gruppenunterstands, a Regelbau 606 for 60 cm Searchlight and crew. A 3,7 cm field gun in a small Welblech garage at the base of the Lewis tower. A WaKoFest bunker for a 4,7 cm K 36 (t) anti-tank gun integrated in the anti-tank wall. A Jägerbunker for 10,5 cm French Skoda gun and a FA understand. The Jägerstand is turned into a museum. A Renault FT tank turret is placed on top, its was original at the Widerstandsnest though.
W27, Widerstandsnest 27 – Beach Entrance
Lying next to Widerstandsnest 26 is Widerstandsnest 27, the beach entrance. This is the location of the integrated WaKoFest 4,7 cm PaK anti-tank bunker.
Visit
Unfortunately at our arrival the museum was closed, it is open during tourist season in summertime.
A car park gives you easy access to the Widerstandsnest. Some of the bunkers are open so bring a torch.
The German concrete extension at the base of Lewis Tower was a gun shelter, not the searchlight shelter claimed in your first para and a photo caption above. (Information on the board beside the tower is wrong.)
