Bunker C10 is part of the Salpa Line strongpoint (Finnish: Salpa-Asema) at Askola in the Luumäki region of Southern Finland. The region was one of the most heavily fortified areas of the Salpa Line, with more than 120 different structures. Most of the reinforced-concrete structures were built during the interim peace of 1940–1941 with the Soviet Union, in between the Winter War and the Continuation War.
Combined AT and MG bunker
Approximately 50 combined anti-tank gun and machine-gun bunkers of this type were constructed along the Salpa Line. A typical combined bunker contained a separate weapon chamber for each weapon, as well as accommodation for 20 men. The armament consisted of a 45 mm Model 1940 anti-tank gun and a Maxim machine gun. The firing sectors of both weapons were parallel. Otherwise, the design was similar to that of a standard machine-gun bunker.
The entrance features a firing loophole for close quarters defence. On top of the bunker is an unclad steel observation cupola, Model 1940. The weapon chambers of bunker C10 still contain the original weapon mounts and other components, although the weapons themselves are missing. The ceilings of the weapons chambers are reinforced with steel plates to protect the men from concrete splinter fragments during an artillery attack. The centreline of the firing sector is 130°. The bunker is partially furnished and retains a radio whip antenna on the exterior.
Camouflage
Bunker camouflage was generally achieved using vegetation attached to mounting brackets incorporated into the exterior walls. The wall containing the firing apertures was either covered with natural stone or painted in camouflage colours. Experiments with sprayed concrete and spray painting were also carried out at the Salpa Position. Camouflage plaster is still visible on the weapon wall, while the support mesh remains visible on the entrance side.

This bunker is part of the Salpa-Asema or Strongpoint at Askola, Luumäki, Finland. It is located along the Lappeenrannantie road that runs parallel to Highway 6 between Lappeenranta and Kouvola. You can park your car along the road and a short walk into the forest will take you there.
