Accommodation bunkers and additional field fortifications were often located further to the rear of the Salpa Line. At this Salpa-asema or Salpa strongpoint at Askola, a fall-back line with trenches and open machine gun emplacements behind an anti-tank ditch is located at the rear of accommodation bunker C59. The ditch is about two meters deep and four to five metres wide.

These fortifications are part of the Salpa-Asema or Strongpoint at Askola, Luumäki, Finland. They are located along the Lappeenrannantie road that runs parallel to Highway 6 between Lappeenranta and Kouvola. You can park your car along the road and a short walk into the forest will take you there.
