Ernesto Breda developed this gun in 1932 and it was in use from 1935. The Anti-Aircraft gun was used in a towed version, a fixed position on trucks or armored cars and as naval weapon. It was also used as Anti-Tank gun to protect motorized convoys. The Breda20/65 model 35 was used in Armored Cars like the Fiat Autoblinda AB41.

The 20 mm Caliber gun fired 500 rounds a minute and had an effective firing range of 2500 meters, a maximum range of 5500 meters. It had a cartridge of 20 rounds.
