Mittlerer Ladungsträger Springer – Sd.Kfz. 304 is a Remote Controlled Demolition Vehicle, based on the Sd.Kfz. 2 Kleines Kettenkraftrad also built by NSU. Also named NSU Springer. A driver drove the Springer near is target, after leaving the vehicle was remotely controlled it to its target and detonated. Usually a radio command group of three Sturmgeschütz 40 vehicles controlled the Springers. Each Sturmgeschütz 40 tank controlled three Springer demolition vehicles. The Mittlerer Ladungsträger Springer carried 330 kilograms of explosives and could be used only once. They were expensive and not very reliable.
