The standard 8 ton Halftrack made by Krauss- Maffei has designation Sd.Kfz. 7 mittlerer Zugkraftwagen 8t. A medium German towing vehicle, an artillery tractor. The Sd.Kfz. 7 is a standard German Halftrack. The version with the Quadruple 2 cm Anti-Aircraft gun has the Sd.Kfz, 7/1 designation. Around 800 vehicles with the Quadruple 2 cm Anti-Aircraft gun were produced during the war.
The anti-aircraft gun was a 2 cm Flakvierling 38 L/65, this Quadruple 2 cm gun has a combined rate of fire of 1400 rounds/ minute. Each gun has a separate cartridge with 20 shells. Its maximum range was 5780 meters but its effective range was 2200 meters.
The 8 ton halftrack with 2m quadruple gun came in two versions, one with an open cabin the other with a closed armored cabin and engine. The armored cabin is shown in the photos.

I appreciate your website because I can’t find any other with pictures of the SD.kfz.7/2. I’m building a model of it but with the 3.7 cm anti-aircraft. I am having a challenge with where the hood meets the front of the armor. I’m hoping that you have higher resolution pictures that you might be willing to send me? Also, any of the other detail ones that you have that have high resolution would be awesome.
